Army arrests suspects in arms trade, missile transfers to terrorist organisations

The Lebanese Army Command issued the following communiqué: 
"As a result of follow-up and observation, an army force from the Intelligence Directorate arrested following a raid in Ras al-Sarj of Arsal a number of persons suspected of trading in various weapons and transporting missiles to terrorist organizations.
Investigation with the arrestees have begun under the supervision of the competent judiciary." 

Lebanese Army arrests several suspects over terror links in east Lebanon

The Lebanese Army Friday arrested several suspects over terror links in east Lebanon, a security source told The Daily Star. Lebanese Army raided the house of Lebanese citizen Bashir Hujeiri in east Lebanon’s border town of Arsal in the Bekaa Valley under a hail of bullets from the Army, the source said.

ISIS blast targets rival extremists in Arsal, inflicts casualties

Daesh (ISIS) detonated a roadside bomb targeting a number of rival extremists in east Lebanon’s border town of Arsal, leaving an undetermined number of casualties, state media said.

The explosive device was planted in al-Malahi district of Arsal, the National News Agency said.

The blast was followed by a round of gunfire between rival extremist factions.

Heavy clashes erupted last month between the rival militant groups on Arsal’s outskirts, near Wadi Hmayed.

Militant groups in the area have clashed on numerous previous occasions over territory and control.

Arrest of Faisal Hussein Mamlouk for links to Abdullah Azzam Brigades

After thorough monitoring and follow up, the army's Intelligence Directorate managed to arrest the so- called Faisal Hussein Mamlouk for links to the Abdullah Azzam Brigades, army command said in a communiqué. 

The detained person carried out other terrorist acts, including encircling army posts, storming into the Internal Security Forces' building in Arsal and clashing with its members, the matter that led to the martyrdom of several military men and the wounding of others. 

Lebanese arrested in Arsal over terror links

The Lebanese Army intelligence apprehended on Thursday a Lebanese national from Arsal over links to a number of terrorist organizations currently present in Arsal outskirts. The arrestee has been referred to the concerned state authorities for further investigations.

Three Daesh members killed in border assault

For the second week in a row, militants belonging to Daesh (ISIS) attempted overnight Saturday to wrest control of positions held by Jabhat Fatah al-Sham – previously known as the Al-Qaeda-linked Nusra Front – and Saraya Ahl al-Sham in the outskirts of the northeastern town of Arsal.

LAF shells terrorists posts in Arsal and Ras Baalbeck

The Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) bombed with heavy artillery the posts of armed militants in the outskirts of Arsal and Ras Baalbek, National News Agency field correspondent said. 
 

Daesh suicide bomber wounds five Army soldiers

A Daesh (ISIS) militant blew himself up Friday, wounding five Army soldiers who were attempting to arrest him as part of a military crackdown in northeastern Lebanon, security sources said. Army units were attempting to arrest Bilal Bureidi after obtaining intelligence that he was part of a Daesh terror network when he detonated his shrapnel-laden belt, multiple security sources told The Daily Star. The explosion occurred next to the Al-Asheq gas station near an Army post in the village of Nabi Othman in the Baalbeck district of the Bekaa Valley.
