LAF tightened security measures in Arsal

On 02 May 17, the Lebanese Army Forces (LAF) tightened security measures in Arsal. The troops closed the road at an Intelligence checkpoint in the Ain al-Shaab neighborhood amid tight measures on the main entrances to the town. Tight security measures were also taken in the Wadi Hmeid area in the outskirts of Arsal. LAF has later reopened the road, but kept measures tight to fend off the infiltration of militants.

 

Suspected killer of Lebanon Army major captured

The Lebanese Army  apprehended a man suspected of killing Army Major Pierre Bachaalani in north Lebanon, said the National News Agency.

The Army’s Airborne Regiment conducted a flash operation in the border town of Arsal, through in which they were able to arrest Lebanese Omar Hamid, who is also known as al-Tawmali, and is suspected to have killed Bachaalani in 2013.

Army bombards militants along Syrian border

The Lebanese Army maintained concentrated artillery fire on militant positions along the Lebanese-Syrian border, particularly those entrenched along Arsal’s outskirts. “They are establishing a firing line,” a security source told The Daily Star. “The militants will not be allowed to advance past this line. Troops and arms can no longer be transported into Syria because of these strikes.” The Army has launched dozens of artillery and airstrikes in the last week, intensifying Thursday with dozens of barrages. The escalation follows a series of munitions shipments from the U.S.

Army bombards terrorists' posts in Ras Baalbek, Arsal

NNA - The Lebanese Army was shelling terrorists' posts in Arsal and Ras Baalbek mountains, the NNA correspondent said. 
 

Explosion heard in Arsal outskirts

The so-called Abu Qasem al-Taleh, responsible for preparing explosive devises for Nusra Front was killed in the explosion of a booby trap outside his base in Kherbet Younine in the outskirts of Arsal, NNA reporter said.

Al-Taleh's Aide Ahmed Abu Daoud, dubbed as "Abu Dajjani Lebneni", was also critically injured in the blast.
 

LAF foils terrorist infiltration attempt in Arsal

The Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) succeeded in the killing of Emir of ISIS, the terrorist Alaa Al-Halabi, nicknamed "Mlays", who had ordered the killing of Lebanese soldiers, National News Agency correspondent said.
Mlays, Syrian national, was killed on Saturday after a successful raid operation launched by the Lebanese Army in Wadi Al-Hosn in Arsal.
During the operation, the army arrested many wanted terrorists, including Syrians, Ahmad Miman, Majd Sahli, Fawzi Sahli and Abdullah Hosyan. 

LAF arrested a person at Wadi Hmayed checkpoint Aarsal

On 20 Apr 17, Lebanese Army Forces (LAF) arrested a person at Wadi Hmayed checkpoint in Aarsal for smuggling fuel to terrorist groups.

Army boosts security measures in northeastern Lebanon town

BEIRUT: The Lebanese Army carried out extensive security measures in the northeastern border town of Arsal in search for fugitives.

The army erected permanent and temporary checkpoints in the town, carrying out patrols in the town and on the outskirts.

The National News Agency reported that more than 10 wanted suspects were apprehended throughout the day.

Army apprehends wanted individuals in Arsal

NNA - The Lebanese Army apprehended more than ten wanted individuals in Arsal, NNA field reporter said, adding that this step came in the wake of stringent security measures that have been being adopted by the Lebanese Army in Arsal since the early morning hours.

On 10 Apr 17, Lebanese Army Forces (LAF) targeted with heavy artillery armed elements movements in Ras Baalbek and Aarsal outskirts.
