State Security arrested a Syrian for belonging to terrorist organisations

State Security arrested the Syrian (Ali R.) in the town of Arsal, over the crime of fighting in Lebanon alongside terrorist organizations. 

The arrested confessed to having participated in the Arsal and Nahle mountain battles in 2014 and 2015. 

General Security apprehended Nusra front cell in Baalbek

On the 15th of December, the General Directorate of Lebanon's State Security arrested  a terrorist cell affiliated Al-Nusra Front in Baalbek.

The cell comprises of Syrian nationals (Walid G.), (Ahmad G.), (Zakaria G.) and (Ziad R.), who took part in battles against the Lebanese army in Arsal back in 2014.

Investigations with the apprehended cell revealed that the group had seized weapons, military vehicles, sums of money, and a hand watch belonging to one of the slain army servicemen.

The Army Intelligence raided a complex owned by controversial Arsal-based Sheikh Mustafa al-Hujeiri, in the northeastern border town of Arsal, in Wadi al-Hosn.
 
A number of light and medium weapons were seized from the complex, in addition to a number of masks and assorted military equipment.

The army raided the camp of Al-Nour in Arsal, known as the Abu Taqiya industrial complex, and arrested three wanted men, among them two Lebanese, one from Amoun family and the other from al-Hujairi's, both of them from Arsal, in addition to a Syrian, all charged with terror links.

The Lebanese Army Intelligence, while continuing its security operations in Arsal, arrested  the Syrian Khaled Fayad Berro who belongs to the terrorist organization, Daesh, and is accused of booby trapping cars and preparing suicide bombers. 

Lebanese Army seized weapons depot in Arsal

The Lebanese Army seized an arms warehouse in the outskirts of the northeastern border town of Arsal. While patrolling the area, an Army Intelligence unit found explosive devices ready to be detonated that were seized in Wadi Hmayyed.
 
The weapons cache included explosive devices, shells filled with explosive material and aluminum powder for explosives, among other things.
 
Militants mainly belonging to Jabhat Fatah al-Sham–previously known as the Nusra Front–had been entrenched on Arsal's outskirts before they were pushed out.

Army arrested Ali Hujairi in Arsal

Army intelligence patrol arrested the former head of Arsal Municipality, Ali al-Hujairi, on the basis of the outcome of investigations conducted with one of the detainees and his confessions. He is suspected of have been involved in the kidnapping of the 30 Lebanese soldiers and policement in 2014.

Following its monitoring of dormant terrorist organization cells within its preemptive security operations, the Army Intelligence Directorate arrested Hassan Hamad al-Hassan - in north Lebanon - on charges of belonging to Daesh terrorist organization and preparing for the assassination of a senior army officer.
