LAF raided refugee camp in the outskirts of Arsal

On 28 May 15, the Lebanese Army Forces (LAF) raided a Syrian refugee camp in the outskirts of Arsal in search for wanted suspects. Two Army patrols carried out the raid on the Babeen refugee camp in Wadi Hmeid. No significant arrests were made.

LAF targets militant groups in Northern Beqaa

NNA - Lebanese Armed Forces reportedly targeted militant groups on the move by mounting a heavy barrage of artillery fire against them in Northern Beqaa.
This, according to National News Agency Correspondents stationed in the Beqaa, who also confirmed that a number of vehicles deployed by Islamist militants were totally destroyed by the army.

Army's 8th Brigade enters Arsal amidst welcome from people

NNA - The Lebanese Army's 8th Brigade on Thursday entered, from Wadi Hmeid and Masyadeh side, Arsal village and set checkpoints therein, especially at the entrances to camps, and patrolled the region, amidst a big welcome from people to the army, according to NNA field reporter in Baalbak.

Hizbullah ambushed armed elements in the outskirts of Arsal

On 27 May 15, a group of armed elements affiliated to Al-Nusra Front were killed in an ambush conducted by Hizbullah in the outskirts of Arsal. The group was spotted with surveillance drones that were overflying the outskirts of Arsal and Nahle. The group was allegedly seeking to carry out a terror act in al-Kasarat area south of Arsal. An al-Qaida-affiliate al-Nusra Front field commander was killed in the ambush and a military vehicle was destroyed.

Tension High between ISIL, Nusra Front on Outskirts of Aarsal

On 26 May 15, media allegedly reported that a series of tit-for-tat abductions was sparked between the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) the al-Qaida-affiliate al-Nusra Front a day after clashes erupted between the two groups on the outskirts of the northeastern border town of Aarsal.
Media also added that Syrian national, an ISIL member, went missing in the outskirts of Aarsal. It was reported that he was kidnapped in retaliation to the abduction of Ahmed Seifeddine on Monday. Seifeddine, is also known as al-Silis.

IS and Nusra clash in Aarsal outskirts after militant abducted

On 25 May 15, media allegedly reported clashes erupted in the outskirts of the northeastern border town of Aarsal between the Islamic State and al-Nusra Front groups. The fighting broke out after the IS shot a man identified as Ahmed Seifeddine in the town before abducting him to its mountainous outskirts. The abductee goes by the nickname Al-Silis and is a member of al-Nusra Front. The two groups have been clashing in the town's outskirts for months now.

LAF pound militant posts in outskirts of Arsal

On 21 May 15, the Lebanese Armed Forces targeted militant positions and their movement on the outskirts of the northeastern border town of Arsal-North Bekaa.

Troops used heavy artillery and rocket launchers to pound the posts of armed militants and their movement. The army also targeted gunmen on the outskirts of northeastern border village of Ras Baalbek in the Bekaa.

Booby-trapped vehicle with 35 kg of explosives dismantled in Arsal

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division, declared Thursday that ISF members dismantled a booby-trapped vehicle in the Arsal town of Rasa al-Sarj, which was loaded with 35 kilograms of explosive materials.
In the details, the directorate released a statement whereby it said that “on Wednesday 20-05-2015, members of the ISF positioned in Arsal found a suspicious white “Fiat” vehicle parked next to the Rawda Mosque, at a distance of 100 meters away from the Lebanese army checkpoint in the town of Ras al-Sarj in Arsal.”

Army closes Brital illegitimate way

NNA - National News Agency correspondent on Tuesday reported that a Lebanese army force is now working on closing illegitimate roads in Brital, erecting checkpoints at the town's entrance, raiding houses, and chasing wanted people.
