Clashes between armed elements in the outskirts of Arsal

On 02 July 15, clashes between armed elements were reported in the outskirts of Arsal
because of stock (cherries) division. Medium and light weapons were used during the battles.

Army kills five Nusra gunmen in Arsal outskirts

The Lebanese Army said in a statement on Wednesday that the Army targeted overnight in Arsal a militant group while it was attempting to sneak between Arsal and its outskirts and killed five gunmen.

Army detains Lebanese for attempting to smuggle Syrian into Lebanon

On 01 July 15, the Lebanese Army arrested at a checkpoint in Aarsal a citizen for trying to smuggle a Syrian into the Lebanese territories. Later the Syrian man admitted to belonging to a terrorist organization.

Saifi highway blocked

On 02 July 15, the families of the abducted LAF/ISF soldiers blocked the Saifi highway in both directions with burning tires to draw attention to the almost one-year case of the captives and urge the authorities to prioritize it. Families also urged Turkey and Qatar to work on releasing the detainees.

Army arrests eight Syrians for belonging to terrorist groups

NNA - The Lebanese Army detained on Monday eight Syrians between Labweh and Arsal for belonging to terrorist groups, the Army Directorate said.
The arrested individuals were handed over to the concerned authorities.

LAF thwarted an infiltration attempt in the outskirts of Arsal

On 29 June 15, the Lebanese Army Forces (LAF) thwarted an infiltration attempt conducted by armed elements in Wadi Hmayyed (Outskirts of Arsal). LAF targeted the armed elements with heavy artillery. Several LAF soldiers were reported injured during the battles.

ISIL leader killed in Arsal

On 29 June 15, in Arsal, an exchange of fire erupted between unidentified armed persons near an amusement park which resulted in the death of an ISIL leader known as Abu Bakr Al Kari. It is worth noting that Al Kari joined many battles against the Lebanese Army.

Army kills 2 armed elements trying to infiltrate Aarsal

On 26 June 15, the Lebanese army said that it killed two armed militant after a group of gunmen tried to infiltrate the northeastern border town of Aarsal. The military said on its twitter account that it targeted a terrorist cell that was trying to enter the town from its outskirts. They seized arms and ammunition from them.
