2014-08 - Arsal Conflict | August, 2014 to June, 2019

On 13 June 15, the Lebanese Army Forces (LAF) targeted using heavy artillery the movement of armed elements in the outskirts of Arsal.

On 12 June 15, a member of the al-Qaida-affiliated al-Nusra Front group was arrested in the northeastern border town of Aarsal for having links to various bombings that have taken place in Lebanon in recent months. Ahmed al-Atrash, also known as Nisr Arsal, was arrested by the army intelligence. He is accused of transporting explosives-rigged cars that were used in bombings in Beirut's southern suburbs of Dahieh and the Bekaa area of al-Hermel, both Hizbullah targets. He is also accused of being involved in fighting against the army.

The Lebanese Armed Forces detained a Lebanese Nationals and Four Syrian Nationals suspected of having links to armed groups.
A LAF unit detained in the northeastern border town of Arsal, Saturday 13 June 15, Abdul Rahman Mohammed Ghdadi on charges of transporting three Syrian Nationals from the outskirts of the town into Lebanon. The three Syrian Nationals are suspected of belonging to a armed group. Ghdadi was also driving a pickup truck without obtaining the necessary legal permits or license plates.

On 11 June 15, media allegedly reported that confirmed military sources stated that the Lebanese army has taken the necessary measures to prevent the infiltration of armed elements from Aarsal – Outskirts in the direction of the town.
