Pickup driver arrested in Arsal for carrying guns

Army Intelligence arrested on Thursday in Arsal pickup driver Fahed Jihad Aoude, and confiscated war rifles and guns inside the vehicle, according to an army command communiqué. The truck was found to be belonging to Fahed Ezzeddine.

Explosive belt found near Arsal entrance

An explosive belt was found on Wednesday evening near Arsal entrance, NNA field reporter said on Thursday, adding that investigations remained underway to unveil the reason how and why the belt was placed in said area.

NNA field reporter in Baalbak on Wednesday said that the Lebanese Army detained at Ain Al Shaab checkpoint around 10 Syrians who deserted the Syrian regime.

Unidentified persons kidnapped a while ago Salah Fares (of the Syrian nationality) from in front of Arsal municipality building and fled to an unknown destination, National News Agency correspondent reported on Tuesday.

On 19 July 15, Lebanese Army Intelligence arrested 10 persons in the town of Labweh in Northern Bekaa while they were on their way from Aarsal outskirts into Lebanese territories, on grounds of suspecting them to belong to a terrorist organization, and handed them over to the concerned court.

10 Suspected Terrorists Arrested in Northern Bekaa

Ten suspected terrorists were arrested Sunday evening in the northern Bekaa region, according to media reports.
“Army intelligence agents apprehended in the northern Bekaa town of al-Labweh ten individuals suspected on belonging to a terrorist organization,” state-run National News Agency reported.
“They were on their way from the outskirts of (the border town of) Arsal to areas inside Lebanon,” NNA said.
