Army foils infiltration attempt in Arsal mountains

The Lebanese Army foiled an infiltration attempt by insurgents in the desolate area of Arsal on the eastern mountain range in the direction of its sites in Wadi Al-Hosn, using rocket and artillery weapons, which led to casualties among smugglers, as reported by the NNA field correspondent.

Army dismantles bombs inside car in Arsal

A Kia vehicle that was suspected by the Lebanese army at the entrance of Arsal was found booby-trapped, National News Agency correspondent reported on Thursday.

The army immediately cordoned off the scene and closed the road to traffic, while the military expert worked on dismantling the bomb.

Army: Arrest of one person in Arsal for assaulting army

Army units arrested the wanted person, Mohammed Walid Hujairi, in the area of Arsal area, for assaulting earlier an army patrol and causing the martyrdom of two army members and the wounding of others, Army Command-Guidance Directorate said in a communiqué on Wednesday.

The army also arrested a Syrian national for possessing papers showing his affiliation to a terrorist group.

The two arrested persons were handed over to the concerned judiciary, with investigations getting underway.

ISIL kidnaped three Lebanese nationals in Arsal

National News Agency correspondent reported on Tuesday that the number of the kidnapped individuals in the Bekaa town of Arsal has reached three, after Mustafa Zaarour and Ali Ezzeddine were abducted today.

Last night, Younes Hojeiry, owner of a quary, was kidnapped in Wadi Hmayed.

The destiny of the three, detained by ISIS, is still as yet unknown.

ISIS gunmen abducted Youness Hujeiri from Arsal

Several ISIS gunmen kidnapped at night (Monday) Younes Hujeiri from the area of Wadi Hmeid in Arsal and took him to the outskirts, NNA field reporter said.

One person arrested in Wadi Hmayyid for partaking in terrorist acts against the army and security forces

A Lebanese Army unit arrested Saturday evening Mohammed Jihad Ghaddara from the region of Wadi Hmayyid in Ersal, for participating in terrorist acts against the army and internal security forces, and was handed-over to the concerned authority for necessary measures, an Army Orientation Directorate communiqué indicated.

Military expert dismantles 120Kg boobytrapped car in Arsal

The Lebanese Army cut off Ain Shaab road in Arsal and cordoned off the area where a suspected Mercedes Car flipped over. Upon inspection, the car turned out to be booby-trapped with 120 kg of highly explosive materials and the military expert is currently working on dismantling it, as reported by the NNA correspondent in the region.

Army arrests two persons in Arsal's Wadi Hmayyid suspected of belonging to terrorist organization

On 13 Jan 15, the Lebanese Armed Forces arrested a two people in Arsal-North Bekaa after trying to cross into its outskirts. The Lebanese national (of al-Hojairi family from Arsal ) and the Syrian national were arrested at the Wadi Hmeid checkpoint in Arsal-North Bekaa. They were riding a white Kia with a Syrian license plate and no registration papers. The two men were arrested after they attempted to infiltrate into Arsal's outskirts after disregarding the instructions of the soldiers at the checkpoint. The troops opened fire in order to arrest them.

Kidnapped servicemen's families close Grand Serail road

Families of kidnapped servicemen closed on Tuesday the Grand Serail road to protest threats against "their sons' lives," National News Agency correspondent said.

It is to note that the said road was previously closed by those families who opened it before Christmas and New Year to show good intentions.
