Army Dismantles Bomb on Outskirts of Arsal

The Lebanese army defused on Wednesday around 25 kilograms of explosives on the outskirts of the eastern town of Arsal.
“A patrol for the intelligence unit located overnight a 25 kg bomb in the area of Ras al-Sarj placed on the road used by army units to reach Wadi al-Raayan,” the military said in a communique.

A military expert arrived at the scene to disable the bomb, the statement said.

The army called on citizens to report to the nearest military station any suspicious item.

On 06 Feb 15, the Army is bombing armed groups' posts in Aarsal outskirts with heavy artillery. The sound of the bombs is heard in northern Bekaa.

Army shelling in Arsal outskirts

The Lebanese Army is currently shelling Arsal outskirts with heavy munitions and rockets. This move came after the Army intercepted some suspicious movement by militants hiding in this region, NNA field reporter said on Thursday.

LAF target armed elements in Bekaa

On 04 Feb 15, at around 2115hrs, the Lebanese Armed Forces targeted armed element concentrations in the Eastern Mountain range of Bekaa. Furthermore, a shell allegedly originating from the Eastern Mountain range fell between Fakiha & Laboueh villages in North Bekaa. No injuries were reported.

Abdul Karim Hojeiry arrested in Arsal for terrorism

The Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) apprehended on Sunday at a checkpoint in Arsal Abdul Karim Hojeiry for belonging to a terrorist organization.

The detainee was transported to a military centre for further investigations.

NNA field reporter in Baalbak on Thursday said that the Lebanese Army raided a number of houses in Brital and arrested three individuals wanted for different kinds of crime like stealing cars and others.
The army had already arrested yesterday in Brital a wanted individual in a quick, secret method.
