Three (3) Syrians abducted in Arsal in retaliation to kidnapping of Hussein Seifeddine

On 01 Apr 15, Gunmen from the Ezzeddine family abducted five Syrian youths from the Syrian town of Qara in response to the kidnapping of Hussein Seifeddine on Tuesday (Seifeddine was kidnapped from a shop owned by members of the Ezzeddine family). Mediators have since intervened to release the Syrians in exchange for Seifeddine, who is reportedly being held for a ransom of $30,000. Earlier, two residents of Arsal were released few hours after they were kidnapped in retaliation to the abduction of a resident from the town's square.

On 31 Mar 15, media allegedly reported that gunmen opened fire in Aljamalah road in Aarsal towards one of the supporters of the ISIS, which led to several gunshot wounds and was taken to Al Rahma Hospital. The gunmen then established a security cordon around the hospital, preventing entry and exit.

On 30 Mar 15, media allegedly reported The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) reportedly warned a family residing in the northeastern border town of Aarsal to leave the town as soon as possible or they will be executed.

On 05 Apr 15, Baalbek resident Hussein Seifeddine was freed by his captors after he was abducted last week from a shop in the Bekaa border town of Arsal. According to media he was released without any ransom and that he was handed over to Arsal mayor Saadeddine Kranbi.

Families of hostages block Saifi Road, warn of total closure

Army detains two Lebanese linked to policemen abduction ordeal

On 27 Mar 15, overnight, a Lebanese Army unit detained two suspects over links to the abduction of Internal Security Forces members in August in the northeastern border town of Arsal and assaulting military positions in the area. The army said in a communique issued on Friday that Ahmed Ali Krumbi and Ali Abdullah Krumbi were arrested on charges of engaging in an assault with terrorist groups on army posts in Arsal during battles with jihadists in August, attacking the police station in the area and kidnapping several policemen.

Four gunmen attack Syrian doctor in Arsal

Around 8:30 in the evening, four masked gunmen entered the house of Syrian doctor Tarek Rish, attacked him, broke his arm, and stole over $700 from him, in addition to his cell phone and his ID, as reported by the NNA correspondent.

Army arrests two persons involved in attack against Army, ISF in Arsal

The Lebanese Army arrested on Thursday night two individuals, Ahamad Ali Karnabi and Ali Abdallah Karnabi who took part in terrorist groups and attacked the Army and ISF in August 2014 incidents in Arsal, the Army directorate said.

Syrian warplane hits terrorist outposts in Arsal highlands

NNA field reporter in North Bekaa on Tuesday said that the Syrian air force targeted today outposts for terrorists in Wadi Khayl and Zemrani on the Lebanese Syrian borders in Arsal highlands.
