LAF clashes with 3 armed men at Wadi Homeid checkpoint, arrests 2

The Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) clashed on Friday with three armed men driving an SUV at Wadi Homeid checkpoint in Arsal. Two of the men were apprehended, both from the town of Arsal. One of the culprits belonged to the Amoun family while the other to the Ezzedine family. The third culprit escaped to the outskirts of Anti-Lebanon Mountains. The LAF confiscated the vehicle and discovered military gear and arms inside it.

Locals cut off Akkar terrain road with burning tires in Akkar's Bazzal town, demanding a swift dealing with the issue of the abducted military soldiers by armed men. The move comes in the context of sit-ins staged by locals in solidarity with the army and to press for the quick release of the kidnapped soldiers who have been held in the captivity of ISIS terrorists for almost a month now.

Clashes between Army and armed persons in Rahwe

An armed group of the ISIS and the Nusra Front intercepted on Thursday an Army patrol in Rahwe, in Arsal Mountains, which led to violent clashes between the two sides. The army shelled the terrorists' locations in the villages in Arsal outskirts. As a result of those clashes, one military personel was killed, three other wounded and one went missing.

Army deters attack by gunmen on Wadi Hmeid

Furious persons blocked on Thursday Tripoli-Halba road in protest against the slaughter of a Lebanese Army member in Fneidik, and in solidarity with the LAF and to express rejection to all kinds of attacks on the Lebanese Army. The road was re-opened later on during the day.
