Clashes reignite between ISIS, Nusra on Lebanon-Syria border

Clashes broke out between ISIS and Nusra Front militants on Lebanon's northeast border Monday following several days of relative calm, Hezbollah-affiliated media said. The War Media Center, which monitors fighting in the border Qalamoun area and other parts of Syria where Hezbollah is present, said the clashes broke out in Wadi al-Dibb, on the eastern outskirts of Lebanon's Arsal. At least one fighter was killed and another one wounded, the report added. The fighting was taking place southeast of Qalaat al-Hosn, it said.

The army arrested Abdullah Mahmoud Hujairi in Wadi Hmeid in Arsal who was accused of smuggling weapons to terrorists in Arsal's outskirts.

Clashes between IS and Nusra in Arsal's outskirts have resulted in the death of 5 Nusra militants and the capture of 6, NNA field reporter said.
Also IS seized a control of a Nusra camp.
On the other hand, a number of IS militants were killed others wounded while both sides were set on alert.

Clashes Renew Overnight between Extremist Groups near Arsal

Clashes have renewed overnight between extremist groups of al-Nusra Front and the Islamic State on the outskirts of the northeastern border town of Arsal and the Zamrani crossing in the outskirts of al-Jarajir in Qalamoun, the Voice of Lebanon radio (93.3) reported on Sunday. The IS had launched an attack at the al-Malahi area in a bid to control the last bastion of al-Nusra. Violent confrontations took place and heavy weapons were used in areas close to the encampments of Syrian refugees who supplied al-Nusra with additional fighters to face the IS.
