International Medical Corps has also been working to integrate mental health into primary health care, as well as build capacity for the identification and awareness of mental health needs by training community members.

IMC: Health care support - Primary Health Care

Primary Healthcare services provided to registered Syrian refugees through these clinics at reduced fees. International Medical Corps not only contracts clinics, but often also enhances their service provision and sustainability through management training programs and the provision of medication and equipment.

As for the PFA session, we’ve conducted in the Beqaa recently – over the past two months two sessions, and will be conducting sessions in the future post September period starting October 2013.

IMC: Training on Psychological First Aid (PFA)

In December 2011, IMC organized 2 day training on PFA for frontline workers in direct contact with Syrians displaced in the North. Seventeen (17) participants attended and were part of the PFA training that was conducted in the north to appease the influx of displaced Syrians. The participants were from the following organizations: (a) the Lebanese Ministry of Social Affairs [MOSA], (b) the Lebanese Red Cross [LRC], (c) the Danish Refugee Council [DRC], and (d) Save the Children. The training was conducted on two consecutive days (21/12/2011 and 22/12/2011).

HI: Urgent Mental Health and Psychosocial Support for Children (including Syrian refugees) in Palestinian Camps in Lebanon

Since April 2013, Handicap international have supported provision of mental health rehabilitation services with special focus on children with mental health problems refugees from Syria living in North and Tyre camps and gatherings.
- Till the end of June, 48 children refugees from Syria have benefited from provision of individual, and/or co-therapy and/or group therapy multidisciplinary mental health rehabilitation services to children based on their needs initially assessed.

HI: Food & NFI aid distribution

HI launched this emergency project in mid march and has already recruited a team of 18 persons, set up a stock to receive a total of 2,520 Non Food Items Kits and 2,100 Food Parcels from the United Nation World Food Program.
Whilst assessment started in the 1st week of April, the first distribution took place on the 2nd week of April with a total of 147 households who received a complete package till date. In the coming weeks the teams will work to full capacity with an estimated 350 kits distributed per week until mid June.

Referral to services, awareness/training regarding inclusion of most vulnerable in the humanitarian response, psychosocial support and rehabilitation cares, distribution of moStarted mid June 2012, Handicap International implements various activities in a holistic approach to improve the coverage of the needs of the most vulnerable, including people with disabilities and injuries:
- Identification of vulnerable people and their needs
- Assessment of the level of coverage of needs (basic and specific needs) using household and individual approaches

HI: Winterization

Provided families and households in the Bekaa area with the following:
• Specification sealing off kit:
- 1 Kit sealing off by family
- 1 kit is composed by 4 sealing off windows, 1 sealing off door and accessories (1 foam bomb and 1 scotch roll, nails)
Service-provider:
- Each team by service provider can be composed by 2 carpenters + 2 labors
- All the materials was provided by Handicap International
- The transport of all materials done by the service provider.

AVSI: Aid distribution in Informal tent settlements

• In partnership with Italian Cooperation over 600 winter blankets have been distributed in an ITS during winter
• AVSI is providing food packages for 1,000 refugees living in ITS not registered with UNHCR. Two distributions have been done till now and others two are planned.
