Protesters block Masnaa crossing over Madaya siege

Hundreds of demonstrators briefly blocked the road near the Masnaa border crossing in east Lebanon to protest a debilitating siege of a Syrian border town where many residents have reportedly starved to death. A similar protest was held in Beirut’s Hamra area near the Lebanese Red Cross headquarters after Al-Jamaa al-Islamiya, viewed as the Lebanese branch of the Muslim Brotherhood, called on its supporters to rally against the situation in the town of Madaya, which is being besieged by Syrian President Bashar Assad’s troops.

EDL contract workers pledge continued protests

Electricite Du Liban's contract workers staged a sit-in at EDL's premises within the frame of the part-timer's pledge of continued protests against a state memo which allows full-time jobs to 800 out of 1800 part-time employees.

Libnan Makhoul, head of the contract workers' committee said in a delivered word that he'd been subject to pressure and threats for accusing private service companies of being behind the major squandering hitting EDL.

 EDL workers burned tires inside the company's headquarters in Cornish el Nahr and prevented the employees from entering into the building, NNA field reporter said. 

Families of kidnapped soldiers stage sit-in in Doures

Families of the kidnapped soldiers staged a sit-in in Doures, and disrupted traffic in both ways, NNA field reporters said.

Protesters brandished slogans and banners in support of the Lebanese military and called for their release regardless of their confessional belonging, reporters added.

Speaking at the behest of the protesters, Tarayya municipal head Mahdi Hamiyeh, highly commended the Body of Moslem Scholars for their mediation efforts with the terrorists and pleaded with people of Ersal to release the soldiers.

Young men cut off Tripoli's Jisr Khnaq against TV report on recent blast

A number of young men cut off Tripoli's Al Khnaq Bridge road, against the backdrop of what has been mentioned in a TV press report on the circumstances of the blast that took place in the area two days ago.

Instantly, an army unit arrived at said scene and re-opened road to traffic. 

Muharram road in Tripoli cut off to condemn explosion

NNA field reporter in Tripoli said that a group of young men blocked Muharram road in Tripoli by rocks and iron materials to condemn the blast of last evening in the region. 

Tripoli locals block road before humanitarian assistance trucks

 Young people in Tripoli's Bab el Tebbaneh blocked the road near a gas station in protest on preventing the humanitarian assistance's entry to Arsal, as the NNA correspondent reported. 

Arsal residents block road in Beirut, call for army to enter Arsal

A group of citizens from Arsal blocked the road in front of Mohammad Amine mosque in Beirut, urging that the army must enter Arsal in order to help take the wounded and sick citizens to hospital for treatment.

They also called for a military deployment along the Lebanese borders in order to prevent Nusra Front and Daesh's members from entering Arsal. 

Fire shooting, bombs in Tripoli in protest to Houssam Sabbagh detention

Fire shooting and sonic bombs were heard a while after Saturday midnight in some regions in Tripoli, mainly Bab Al-Tabbaneh and Al-Koubbeh, in protest to the arrest of Sheikh Houssam Al-Sabbagh, National News Agency correspondent in Tripoli Abdel Karim Fayyad said.

The field correspondent also mentioned that a grenade thrown at Al-Mankoubine crossroad injured the Palestinian national R.SH. who was transferred to one of Tripoli hospitals.
