Tripoli protesters set up tents near Abu Ali roundabout

The families of prisoner Ziad Alouki and others that had been arrested during Tripoli's security incidents set up four tents near Tripoli's Abu Ali roundabout, objecting the continuing arrest of their sons in Roumieh prison, NNA field reporter said.

Maaloula locals block Akkar, Tripoli highway protesting arrest of Alouki and others

The residents of Maaloula blocked Tripoli-Akkar highway in the vicinity of Maaloula locality in protest against the continuing arrest of Ziad Alouki and others, who had been detained in Roumieh prison during Tripoli's security incidents, NNA field reporter said.

Group of Tripoli residents block roads protesting Ziad Alouki's deteriorating health

A number of citizens blocked Tripoli's main road with blazing tires in both directions in protest against the deteriorating health condition of Ziad Alouki, who was imprisoned in Roumieh jail during Tripoli's security incidents, NNA field reporter said.

Alouki suffered a heart attack and was rushed to a hospital at dawn.

Protesters also tossed four bombs in Abou Ali River, NNA reporter added. 

EDL contract workers stage sit-in in solidarity with KVA employees

Electricite Du Liban (EDL) contract workers staged on Tuesday morning a sit-in at the company's building in solidarity with KVA employees, the state-run National News Agency reported.        

The demonstrators also closed the customer care services at the company's headquarters in Mar Mikhael.

KVA employees stage sit in over delay in salaries

Employees of one the companies providing services to the EDL staged a sit-in in front of the KVA building to protest against the delay in the payment of their salaries, the NNA correspondent reported. 

Sports City way reopened after locals protested power outage

The Sportive City way was reopened a while ago, after locals had blocked it with flaming tires in protest at the electricity power outage in the area, the Traffic Management Center reported.

Chatila camp clash leads to closing Nabatiyeh road with burning tires

A number of young people blocked the Nabatiyyeh - Kfarremmen road with burning tires while carrying cleavers, protesting the killing of Wael el Tall in Shatila camp clashes, the NNA correspondent reported.

These outlawed people attacked a vehicle that was passing by and broke its glasses.

A unit of Nabatieh police and army forces rushed to the scene to disperse protesters.

Also, civil defense units rushed to extinguish the fire these people caused.

Bared Camp refugee storms into UNRWA office in Beddawi

A refugee from Nahr al Bared Camp who has taken shelter in Beddawi Camp since 2007 stormed into the office of UNRWA in Beddawi along with his family members and closed it down, NNA field correspondent reported on Friday.


Mohammad Khalil took these desperate measures after his name was taken off the list of those benefiting from monthly rent payments by UNRWA to families who lost their homes during the Nahr al Bared clashes.

Ras Baalbeck sit in to protest villager's kidnapping

Ras Baalbeck folk staged a sit-in to protest the kidnapping of a villager amid news of early release of two other Syrian and Turkmen victims.

Protesters were soon joined by the municipal head, the bishop and parish priest who stated that the kidnapped victim is an elderly person badly in need of medical attention reiterating that no ransom will be paid since we refuse to be treated as zhmmi second class citizens. 

Residents protest in Bourj Hammoud

A curfew was set  in the eastern Beirut suburb of Bourj Hammoud after an altercation took place on, in which one man was seriously injured by a gas canister. Five Kurdish-Syrians were later arrested in connection to the fight, according to LBC.

Lebanese residents of Bourj Hammoud staged sit-in took place on Sunday, accusing Syrians of being behind the dispute and calling for stricter security in the neighborhood.

A curfew was then set, forbidding Syrian nationals from being outdoors between 8:00 pm and 6:00 am in Bourj Hammoud.
