Protesters block Masnaa crossing over Madaya siege

Hundreds of demonstrators briefly blocked the road near the Masnaa border crossing in east Lebanon to protest a debilitating siege of a Syrian border town where many residents have reportedly starved to death. A similar protest was held in Beirut’s Hamra area near the Lebanese Red Cross headquarters after Al-Jamaa al-Islamiya, viewed as the Lebanese branch of the Muslim Brotherhood, called on its supporters to rally against the situation in the town of Madaya, which is being besieged by Syrian President Bashar Assad’s troops.
