وطنية - نظمت الجبهة الديمقراطية لتحرير فلسطين، في مخيم الرشيدية، وقفة تضامنية مع القدس والمنتفضين في قطاع غزة ورفضا واستنكارا لنقل السفارة الامريكية الى قلب مدينة القدس.

والقى كلمة الجبهة الديمقراطية عبد كنعان عضو قيادة اقليم لبنان للجبهة، فحيا الشهداء الذين سقطوا اليوم، على مذبح الحرية وللمنتفضين في الضفة وفي غزة الذين يكتبون تاريخا نضاليا جديدا في مرحلة التحرر الوطني، مؤكدا "أن ما يجري اليوم من مجازر اسرائيلية ترتكب بحق الشعب الفلسطيني الاعزل، لهو وصمة عار على جبين المجتمع الدولي واممه المتحدة وعلى جبين الانظمة العربية التي تدور في فلك الولايات المتحدة".

Palestinians in Sidon march in solidarity with Gaza

Palestinian and Lebanese men and women took to the streets of Sidon, in solidarity with their compatriots living in occupied territory. The marchers, some holding torches, walked from old Sidon to the courtyard of the Sidon Serail, chanting slogans along the way.

Palestinians in Lebanon protest US Jerusalem embassy move

Hundreds of residents of Sidon’s Ain al-Hilweh Palestinian refugee camp protested in the streets, as the United States was set to inaugurate its controversial Jerusalem embassy later in the day.

The embassy opening is seen as a symbolic gesture denoting U.S. President Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

وكان قد أشار متحدث بإسم المياومين المعتصمين أمام وزارة الطاقة، إلى أنّ "ألف عائلة مرميّة في الشارع بعد انتهاء العقد مع شركة "دباس"، والأهم أنّ معضلتهم من دون أمل ومن دون حلّ واضح للمستقبل".

Thousands protest 100 days since Trump's Jerusalem decision

Thousands of Palestinian refugees took part in a Hamas-sponsored event in Sidon marking that 100 days had passed since U.S. President Donald Trump decided to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

The widely scorned decision to recognize occupied Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and move the U.S. embassy to the contested city has become a “weak point” of U.S. foreign policy, Hamas’ political leader in Lebanon Ahmad Abd al-Hadi told a crowd of people attending the rally.

Lebanese-Palestinian activist Manal Kortam chose a symbolic campaign name for a symbolic candidacy to Lebanon's parliamentary elections set to take place on May 6.

As a Palestinian refugee born and raised in Lebanon, she is unable to legally apply as a candidate, so instead she chose to highlight the lack of rights for Palestinians, women and other marginalised communities with the "We Exist" campaign.   

Families of missing in Lebanon address elections in new campaign

“The list of disappeared in all of Lebanon” campaign was launched Friday by families of those who went missing during the Civil War, calling on electoral lists running in the upcoming elections to prioritize their cause.

The campaign was announced in a media conference held at the Gibran Khalil Gibran Garden in Downtown Beirut, coinciding with the April 13 anniversary of the beginning of the 15-year conflict.

The families are urging that a law be proposed that seeks to establish an independent national body to reveal the fate of the missing.

UNRWA, Palestinian students urge funding ahead of Rome conference

Hundreds of Palestinian students, alongside UNRWA officials, took part in an event Monday urging vital funding for the agency ahead of a Rome donor conference slated for March 15.

Students of the UNRWA-funded Birzeit and Beit Jala schools in the Mount Lebanon town of Sibline danced Palestinian-style dabkeh and flew paper kites bearing UNRWA’s “Dignity is Priceless” slogan, in the latest public bid for international funding for the United Nations Palestinian refugee agency.

Extremist sheikh announces hunger strike for general amnesty

A notorious Islamist sheikh incarcerated in Roumieh Prison announced Thursday that he, along with other Islamist prisoners, had begun a hunger strike pending the approval of a general amnesty law.
