Hundreds protested on Thursday in several areas of Lebanon against the deteriorating living conditions as the country suffers from an unprecedented economic crisis. The protest in Riad al-Solh, which had the most people out of the country-wide protests, was joined by Forces of Change MPs Paula Yacoubian and Yassin Yassin.  According to our correspondents in South and North Lebanon, protests also took place in Akkar, Jal al-Dib, Nabatieh and Saida.

The judicial assistants started an open strike to protest against the deterioration of their living conditions and the dilapidation of the courthouses. In a statement, the auxiliaries of justice said that they “will stop working until Aug. 5.” They called for the payment of their transport allowances for the months of April and May, as well as the compensation due to them for counting the results of parliamentary elections held on May 15.
