Protesters block Beddawi highway over bakeries closure and bread shortage.

Opposition MPs and relatives of the victims of the Aug. 4, 2020 Beirut port blast on Sunday held a sit-in near the Beirut port to protest government inaction to quell weekslong fires at the port’s grain silos. MP Najat Aoun Saliba denounced the measures undertaken by the government as “disappointing” and called for an urgent meeting grouping “the concerned ministers, the Civil Defense and the army” along with a plan to stop the fires blazing at the port grain silos since early July and “inform the Lebanese of the truth.

Tabbaneh highway in Tripoli is blocked to traffic in protest against the water cut off from the area for several days.

وطنية - أفادت مندوبة "الوكالة الوطنية للإعلام" في البترون أن أهالي كفرحلده، بيت شلالا وديربلا، بدعوة من بلديات ومخاتير بلداتهم، نفذوا اعتصاما أمام محطة الضخ والتمرير في كفرحلده للمطالبة بتأمين الكهرباء إليها، بعد انقطاع المياه عن منازلهم منذ ما يزيد عن شهر. وأكدوا أن "هذا الاعتصام هو خطوة أولية للفت الانظار والتحرك باهتمام  لإيجاد حل إما لتأمين التيار الكهربائي وإما المازوت"، لافتين إلى أن "وجود خط توتر عال خاص بالمحطة". وأشاروا إلى أنه "إذا لم يتم التجاوب لإيجاد حل فسيتبع ذلك خطوات تصعيدية مفتوحة على كل الاحتمالات".
