South Lebanon town launches initiative to combat poverty
A town in south Lebanon launched an initiative centralizing charity donations, titled “Hand by Hand,” in response to poverty levels in the region.
The organizers of the campaign - in Arabic named “Kulna Labaad” - installed a permanent metal donation box in Nabatieh Fawqa’s town square bearing the campaign’s name and its statement: “Some own a fraction of what we possess. Donate what you can afford to those in need.”
