"تحت ثياب سوداء تغطي جسد فتاةٍ عشرينيّة، الكثير من العنف المخبأ.. فمن يضرب فتاةً تضحك، كلّما تذكّرت اليد والحزام اللذين نزلا على جلدها؟ ومن يمكنه الاقتراب من فتاة تضع يدها على رقبة أمّها أو تشبك يدها بيدها حتّى تشعر بالأمان؟
كدمات وحروق مخفية تحت الرداء الأسود.. لكن اللون الأزرق البادي تحت عيون مريم كافٍ لمعرفة لمَ تفيض عيونها بالدموع والضحكات.
هي التي كانت تعنّف في منزل شقيقها في النبطية، وتُضرب من قبل من كان يفترض أن يحميها أي والدها وشقيقها وزوجة شقيقها."
