Collective Action
Gathering in support of FPM
Supporters of the "Free Patriotic Movement" gathered on the main street in Batroun, declaring their solidarity with FPM Chief, Minister Gebran Bassil, raising the Lebanese and FPM flags, as national songs played in the background, NNA correspondent in Batroun reported.
Similarly, activists and supporters of the Free Patriotic Movement carried out a solidarity stand in front of the Palace of Justice in Jdeideh and in Qaa earlier , in support of President Michel Aoun's stances and the road map he launched to fight corruption, through the adoption of the Corruption Accountability Law, and lifting immunity and banking secrecy.
They stressed that they had previously called for the same demands made by demonstrators today “but resorting to the streets is wrong," calling for "unification of squares and demonstrating in front of the Parliament House instead of the streets,” while stressing that “accountability occurs through the judiciary and not through roadblocks.”
