Police arrest three suspected drug dealers in Metn Lebanese Civilians, Syrian Civilians/Refugees, ISF(internal security forces)

Police have detained two Lebanese and a Syrian suspected of dealing drugs and confiscated in their possession a quantity of drugs after a car chase in the Metn area, the Internal Security Forces said in a statement Saturday.
It said the Bureau of the Repression of Terrorism and Serious Crimes of the Judicial Police in Beirut and Mount Lebanon was pursuing an Audi in the area of Biyaqout when the drug dealers opened fire at the unit.
The patrol, escorted by two Jdeideh police station units, responded to the fire by shooting the fleeing suspects tires.
"The Syrian national was wounded in his left foot and was admitted to hospital for treatment," the statement said.
The suspects were identified as 23-year-old Kh.J., 32-year-old Z.R. and 25-year-old Syrian Aa.M.
Police later found inside the car 84 cocaine envelopes weighing 127 grams, 11 hashish envelopes weighing 70 grams and five bags of Salvia weighing 11 grams.

Activists March 'Against Disease' as Arslan Fails to Win Residents Approval of Choueifat Landfill Lebanese Civilians, Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF), ISF(internal security forces)

Civil society activists on Sunday staged what they dubbed a “March Against Disease” to raise the alarm over the health and environmental hazards that the trash disposal crisis poses with the coming of the rain season.
Protesters marched from Sed el-Bauchrieh, where a huge “mountain of garbage” has formed, towards the site containing piles of trash on the banks of the Beirut River outside the capital.
The Jdeideh-Bauchrieh municipal chief and members of the municipal council took part in the demo to denounce the piling up of garbage and to voice solidarity with the activists' demands.
Demonstrators carried banners slamming the ruling class and demanding the release of funds that can enable municipalities to play a waste management role, amid strict security measures by the army and the Internal Security Forces.
A protest organizer said Sed el-Bauchrieh was chosen as the march's starting point due to “the rivers of trash that were created by the rain last week.”
Activists meanwhile distributed leaflets encouraging residents to start waste sorting at home.

Corpse in Bouchrieh

NNA field reporter Elias Shahine on Friday said that a bloody corpse of a man in his forties was found along a pavement in Bouchrieh region, with a coroner testing it in presence of forensic detectives to unveil the circumstances of the story.

Demonstrations to protest the violence

Demonstrations took place all over the country to protest the violence, namely in West Beirut, the southern and eastern suburbs, in Baabda, Hadath, Antounieh, Choueifat, Sin al- Fil, and Nabaa. Women demonstrated in Bourj Hamoud, Mar Mikhaël, Sed al-Bouchrieh, Jdeideh, Dora, as well as in the North and in the Beqaa. At least 40,000 people demonstrated in total.
