Police have detained two Lebanese and a Syrian suspected of dealing drugs and confiscated in their possession a quantity of drugs after a car chase in the Metn area, the Internal Security Forces said in a statement Saturday.
It said the Bureau of the Repression of Terrorism and Serious Crimes of the Judicial Police in Beirut and Mount Lebanon was pursuing an Audi in the area of Biyaqout when the drug dealers opened fire at the unit.
The patrol, escorted by two Jdeideh police station units, responded to the fire by shooting the fleeing suspects tires.
"The Syrian national was wounded in his left foot and was admitted to hospital for treatment," the statement said.
The suspects were identified as 23-year-old Kh.J., 32-year-old Z.R. and 25-year-old Syrian Aa.M.
Police later found inside the car 84 cocaine envelopes weighing 127 grams, 11 hashish envelopes weighing 70 grams and five bags of Salvia weighing 11 grams.
