Hospital employees protest in Nabatieh

وطنية - النبطيه - صعد الموظفون والعاملون في مستشفى نبيه بري الجامعي الحكومي في النبطية تحركهم، وأقفلوا منذ صباح اليوم ابواب الطوارىء، ممتنعين عن استقبال جميع الحالات الطارئة، ونفذوا اضرابا شل معظم مرافق المستشفى.
ويأتي هذا التحرك في إطار "يوم الغضب" في كل المستشفيات الحكومية تنفيذا لقرار الهيئة التأسيسية لنقابة عاملي المستشفيات الحكومية، وللمطالبة بسلسلة الرتب والرواتب.

وطنية - نفذ موظفو المستشفيات الحكومية اعتصاما أمام مدخل وزارة الصحة في بئر حسن، للمطالبة بإقرار حقوقهم في سلسلة الرتب والرواتب بعد تسعة أشهر من إقرار السلسلة في مجلس النواب وعدم حصولهم عليها، وقطعوا الطريق العام أمام الوزارة لفترة محدودة لتسليط الضوء على مطالبهم الأمر الذي تسبب بزحمة سير خانقة.

ثم انتقل المعتصمون إلى مبنى الضريبة على القيمة المضافة التابع لوزارة المالية حيث كرروا قطع الطريق.

Security forces injure protester as hospital employees announce strike

A protesting hospital employee was injured by security forces Wednesday as dozens of public hospital employees announced they would close hospitals to all patients the following day, the state-run National News Agency reported.

Employees of public hospitals across Lebanon have gone on routine strikes in recent months, demanding a pay hike in accordance with last year’s salary scale law.

Parents at French Embassy-linked school call for sit-in

Parents at the French Embassy-affiliated school Grand Lycee Franco-Libanais called for a sit-in on campus to protest a teachers’ strike that saw students out of school for almost a month.

The teachers’ association declared an open strike Friday last week after the school administration broke a promise to reinstate a pay raise stipulated in the salary scale law endorsed by Parliament in 2017.

Sidon public hospital employees strike, demanding raise

Employees of Sidon’s governmental hospital Wednesday held a demonstration in front of the entrance to the emergency wing, marking the second day of their latest strike to protest the delayed implementation of the salary scale law.

The protest was held in compliance with a decision from the Public Hospital Workers Syndicate in Lebanon, the state-run National News Agency reported.

The hospital’s employees have closed the hospital’s clinics repeatedly in routine strikes demanding a pay hike, but measures are consistently taken to keep the emergency room open.

Haddad calls for recount at Beirut protests

Locals gather against Koura cement factories

 Dozens of residents in Koura took to the highway in Kfar Hazir Sunday to hold a sit-in to demand the closure of local cement factories and call on the government to ban cement exports over health concerns.

The protest, organized by the environmental committee of Kfar Hazir, issued a list of short-term and long-term demands, read out by the committee’s coordinator George Costantine al-Itani.
