Policemen in eastern city of Zahle protested Monday against a decision to be transferred to Beirut, a security source told The Daily Star.
The source said policemen inside the Moallaqa barrack in Zahle went on strike against the measure, saying it would make their daily commute to work more difficult as they reside in the Bekaa Valley.
The protesters belong to the Third Rapid Intervention Regiment, the source added.
Zahle is one of the most populous towns in the Bekaa and is 38 kilometers away from Beirut.
