Three Syrian nationals were arrested in Beirut for stabbing a Syrian man in the chest, having allegedly been angered by his speaking to a young woman they knew, the Internal Security Forces announced Thursday.

"On Jan. 15, 2018, in Beirut's Wata al-Moseitbeh, at the Safa Sports Complex, a fight broke out between A.H., born in 1995, and a group of three young men: Q.S., born 1994; M.J.Aa., born in1993 and M.R.Aa., born in 1995," a statement from the ISF read.

The fight reportedly broke out because A.H. was talking to a young woman that Q.S. knew, and ended with the latter stabbing A.H. in the chest with a knife. A.H. was taken to the hospital, but succumbed to his wounds not long after arriving.

"On the morning of Jan. 16, 2018, at the same place ... the Beirut Unit of ISF apprehended the three suspects," the statement added.

The suspects have been referred to the judiciary.
