أوقف النائب العام الإستئنافي في الجنوب القاضي رهيف رمضان، المدعوة "نجاح . ق" وهي سورية الجنسية، بعدما توافرت معلومات لدى النيابة العامة أظهرت أنّها من قامت بوضع طفلة حديثة الولادة داخل حقيبة سفر على الكورنيش البحري في صيدا، الّتي عُثر عليها حية ترزق قبل أيام وتمّ نقلها إلى "مستشفى صيدا الحكومي"، ووُصفت حالتها بالمستقرّة.
