"We want accountability" movement staged a sit-in in front of the Value Added Tax (T.V.A.) building in Al-Adliyeh, demanding the immediate transfer of the municipalities' money within a swift plan to treat garbage, National News Agency correspondent reported on Saturday.
"More than 250 million dollars are stolen at the Tax Directorate of the Value Added Tax, and more than 40% of these thefts cover the salary scale," the activist Neemat Badreddine said.
Upon the arrival of the activists at the gate of the T.V.A building, security forces closed the gates; however, the activists voiced shouts calling to open the door in order to carry on work to serve the citizens' interests, the field reporter added.
