علنت قيادة الجيش– مديرية التوجيه أنه "إلحاقا لبيانها السابق المتعلق بالإشكال الذي حصل في مدينة طرابلس بتاريخ 22/5/2018، والذي أدى إلى استشهاد أحد العسكريين وإصابة آخرين بجروح، ونتيجة لعمليات الرصد والمتابعة، أوقفت مديرية المخابرات عدداً من المتورطين في الإشكال المذكور، بالإضافة إلى ضبط العديد من الأسلحة والذخائر الحربية، وتم إحالة 17 موقوفا على القضاء المختص، في حين تستمر التحقيقات لتوقيف باقي المتورطين".
