حصلت في الآونة الأخيرة عدة عمليات سلب بقوة السلاح وسرقة، طالت عددا من المواطنين ضمن محافظة جبل لبنان، وذلك من قبل أشخاص مجهولي الهوية.
نتيجة للتحريات والاستقصاءات المكثفة والرصد، تمكنت شعبة المعلومات بتاريخ 27/10/2016 من توقيف أحد أفراد هذه العصابة في محلة الشويفات، ويدعى: أ. س. (مواليد عام 1985، لبناني).
وقد اعترف بقيامه بعدة عمليات سلب بقوة السلاح وسرقة دراجات آلية، بالاشتراك مع آخرين، العمل جار لتوقيفهم. كما ضبط بحوزته مسدس حربي نوع "توغاريف" وكمية من حشيشة الكيف، وقد تبين انه يوجد بحقه خلاصة حكم بجرم حيازة سكين داخل السجن وقرار جزائي بجرم مخالفة الأنظمة، وهو من أصحاب السوابق بجرائم سلب بقوة السلاح وسرقة دراجات آلية وتعاطي المخدرات.
