Security forces arrested five fugitives in different areas of north Lebanon Thursday at checkpoints and in house raids, security sources told The Daily Star. Lebanese fugitive Bassem al-Asmar, wanted over several arrest warrants, was arrested by the Army in al-Arour Street in the Tripoli neighborhood of Bab al-Tabbaneh, one source said, without specifying the nature of the charges. Police also arrested two people in other parts of Tripoli, another source said. Mohammad Beiruti, who was wanted for forging currency, was detained in the Nejmeh Square in the city, and Mohammad Haidar, wanted for theft, was caught in al-Suweiqa neighborhood of Qibbeh. Police also arrested M. Qattaa in the northern town of Chekka, he explained. Finally, on al-Mashtal street in Minyeh, soldiers arrested N. al-Bayeh in a raid on his appartment, where they found and confiscated quantities of weapons and ammunition, a security source told The Daily Star. http://www.dailystar.com.lb/News/Lebanon-News/2015/May-28/299626-army-ar...
