علنت المديرية العامة لقوى الأمن الداخلي - شعبة العلاقات العامة أنّ "بتاريخ 27 آب 2018 وفي ومدينة بعلبك، ونتيجة للإستقصاءات والتحريات المكثّفة، تمكّنت إحدى دوريات شعبة المعلومات في قوى الأمن الداخلي من توقيف، المدعو: "ح. ك." وهو لبناني من مواليد عام 1987، وذلك لإقدامه بتاريخ 16 حزيران 2018 على إطلاق النار باتجاه محلات في سوق بعلبك عائدة لأشخاص من "آل عثمان"، الأمر الّذي أثار انزعاج تجار المدينة المذكورة وإقدامهم على تسكير المحلات في حينها احتجاجًا".
