اصدرت المديرية العامة لقوى الأمن الداخلي – شعبة العلاقات العامة بيانا ذكرت فيه ان "توافرت معلومات لدى مفرزة استقصاء الجنوب في وحدة الدرك الإقليمي عن قيام رجل مجهول الهوية بالدخول إلى منازل النازحين السوريين في منطقة مرجعيون، وإيهام النساء بأنه من منظمة الأمم المتحدة، التي هي بصدد تنفيذ برنامج غذائي للأطفال الرضّع، فيطلب من الأم إرضاع طفلها ويعمد إلى تصويرها، وبعد إلتقاط الصور يبدأ بإبتزازها بالطلب منها خلع ملابسها والتعرّي أمامه.

على الفور، ونتيجةً للتحريات والمتابعة، تمكن عناصر المفرزة المذكورة من تحديد هوية المشتبه به، وتوقيفه بتاريخ 18/9/2018، وتبيّن انه يدعى: م. م. (مواليد 1981، لبناني) وقد سُلِّمَ إلى مخفر الدوير، حيث اعترف بما نُسِب إليه. وأحيل إلى مفرزة النبطية القضائية في وحدة الشرطة القضائية، للتوسع بالتحقيق معه، بناء على إشارة القضاء المختص.
