صدر عن قيادة الجيش - مديرية التوجيه، البيان الآتي:

"بتاريخه، تسلمت القوات البحرية اللبنانية من القوات البحرية التابعة للأمم المتحدة مركبا على متنه 32 شخصا من الجنسية السورية ولبناني، كانوا متوجهين إلى قبرص بطريقة غير شرعية، وذلك بعدما اعترضته القوات الدولية المذكورة في عرض البحر، خارج المياه الإقليمية اللبنانية، مقابل مدينة طرابلس".

وقد عملت فرق من الطبابة العسكرية بمشاركة الصليب الأحمر اللبناني على معاينتهم،
