Two Syrian brothers are in custody Wednesday after stealing $21,000 in cash and merchandise from a supermarket in the southern Beirut suburb of Hazmieh earlier this week.
Members of the ISF’s Information Branch arrested the two brothers, aged 20 and 27, after the supermarket owner reported the theft Monday.
The ISF identified the pair as Aa. J., born in 1998, and H. J., born in 1991, though Wednesday’s statement did not elaborate on which of the two was the primary suspect.

Subsequent investigations of the brothers’ home revealed LL7 million ($4,626) in stolen merchandise, as well as $650 in cash.
