The Internal Security Forces announced the arrest of two Lebanese men suspected of robbing multiple churches in Mount Lebanon, allegedly to fund their drug addictions. The arrest came after police monitored the suspects on June 6, as they were driving through Burj Hammoud in a Hyundai i10. Heroin and hashish were reportedly found in their possession. Under interrogation, the suspects reportedly admitted to robbing around 10 churches with the intent to use the money to buy drugs. The two men, both born in 1990, have a history of theft and drug abuse and were wanted by security forces, according to the ISF statement. "Due to the negative effects of the theft, the ISF's Information Branch took action in order to identify and arrest the members of the gang," the statement added.
