كشفت المديرية العامة لقوى الأمن الداخلي - شعبة العلاقات العامة، أنّ "ليل 28 - 29 أيلول 2018، أوقف عناصر حاجز ضهر البيدر، على متن سيّارة "فان" لنقل الرّكّاب، كلًّا من: "ف. خ." وهي سورية من مواليد عام 1979 و"ع. ج." وهو سوري من مواليد عام 1978".

وأوضحت في بلاغ، أنّه "ضُبط بحوزتهما مبلغ 4200/دولار أميركي مزيّف، ومفصّل على الشكل الآتي: 22 ورقة من فئة 50 دولار و31 ورقة من فئة 100 دولار"، مبيّنةً أنّ "الموقوفين سُلّما إلى مكتب مكافحة الجرائم المالية وتبييض الأموال في وحدة الشرطة القضائية، للتوسّع بالتحقيق معهما، بناءً على إشارة القضاء المختص"
