BEIRUT: Contract workers at Electiricite du Liban began a two day protest on Thursday to pressure service providers into meeting their longstanding demands, state media reported.

The workers' syndicate said earlier this week that these "two-day cautionary protests" at the company's headquarters in Beirut's Corniche al-Nahr are to press the EDL board of directors to make a decision regarding their employment status by June 28. It's the latest in a long-running dispute between contract workers and the state-owned energy provider.
