On 08 July 16, residents of Tripoli held a demonstration over the north Lebanese city’s electricity and water cuts and lack of basic services. The demonstration took place at the Al-Rahma mosque following Friday prayers and was attended by several members of Tripoli’s municipal council, mayors and local figures. Protesters held banners denouncing neglect of the poverty-stricken city by officials.
