An 18-year-old boy was shot in the leg overnight as he resisted armed robbers in Jbeil, north of Beirut, the National News Agency said Wednesday.
Four men in a white van approached a construction site near United Gas Station in the Jbeil town of Shamat shortly before midnight in an attempt to steal drilling equipment, the NNA said.He was taken to a local hospital.
The NNA said the robbers fled on foot toward the woods.
Police arrived promptly and have begun searching for the robbers.
