A Syrian national reported to police in northeastern Lebanon the kidnapping of her son, who she says was snatched by gunmen Saturday night, the state-run National News Agency said Sunday.
According to the NNA, Kawthar Ibrahim al-Masri told police in Baalbek that her son, Bilal Adnan Hashem, was kidnapped by two armed assailants from Nasser Square in the city and taken to an unknown location.
She added that she later received a call demanding $50,000 in ransom for her son’s release.
