A Syrian was arrested by state security on suspicion of forging and trafficking Syrian taxi driving permits.
Authorities alleged he was charging $150 per license. The man was believed to be working with his brother – currently in Syria – who would send him pictures of identification cards through WhatsApp. The suspect would then make the forged documents and send them through travel agencies and passengers making their way between Syria and Lebanon.
Neither the suspect nor his brother were identified by the authorities, while an arrest warrant has been issued against the brother.
This security incident was mapped according to the closest possible location.
