The Internal Security Forces announced the arrest of a Syrian man who had forced his two underage daughters into prostitution and raped the eldest girl.

The ISF said that north Lebanon police had Wednesday detained the man, identified as 46-year-old Z.Z., residing in Qibbeh, in the northern city of Tripoli.

The arrest came after news circulated on social media that a father was forcing his two girls into prostitution with the help of their brother, the police report said.

The father and his son had allegedly charged LL50,000 ($33.3) per client.

The girls are aged 16 and 11.

The father also admitted to raping his 16-year-old daughter over the past few years, adding that her maternal uncle, 26-year-old Y.H., who is Lebanese, had raped her before him.

The uncle had also confessed to raping the girl in 2010, while he was under the influence of drugs.

The girls’ brother, 18, said that his father has been raping his eldest daughter, but denied facilitating his sisters' prostitution.

The girls’ paternal uncle, 16, was arrested with the father and the son during the raid. He was allegedly found only wearing underwear, but denied his involvement in the case.

During questioning, the 16-year-old girl said that her father had raped her on a daily basis.

The father, his son and the maternal uncle were taken into custody, while the paternal uncle was released after providing proof of residence.
