Around 100 people gathered in Martyr’s Square in central Beirut to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the start of the Syrian civil war.
The majority of the protesters were Syrians, but some Lebanese also participated in the demonstration.
They chanted slogans calling for freedom and demanded Syrian President Bashar Assad step down.
One banner read: “The foot of a Syrian child is greater than the biggest minister.”
