The Internal Security Forces Information Branch arrested two men suspected of being involved in a recent bank robbery in Bir Hasan, local media reported.
One of the suspects is Lebanese, the other Syrian.
On Jan. 18, two masked gunmen stormed the Lebanese Swiss Bank in the southern Beirut suburb, stealing $17,000 before making off on a motorcycle.
A circulated video showed the robbers firing at the ceiling, while panicked customers and employees took cover on the floor.
Investigations centered on security footage from CCTV cameras in the neighborhood - near the Kuwaiti Embassy – and authorities had tracked the yellow getaway vehicle, a security source told The Daily Star at the time.
