A man was arrested in Beirut's southern suburbs after cellphone footage of him robbing a store was posted on social media.

The suspected thief, a 20-year-old identified by his initials M.A., was arrested by Internal Security Forces "less than 24 hours" after the footage was brought to the attention of the force.

During questioning, the suspect admitted being the person in the video and it was later revealed he had been previously arrested on theft and drug charges.
