A Syrian national suspected of fighting alongside extremist militants in Syria was arrested in south Lebanon.

The man was suspected of fighting alongside militants from Jabhat Fatah al-Sham in southern Syria for more than two years.

He was reportedly arrested in the village of Hanawieh, east of the southern city of Tyre.

The suspect reportedly said he had several brothers fighting for Jabhat Fatah al-Sham, one of whom had been killed.

The suspect has been referred to the judiciary.
