On 13 September 2017, State Security arrested a Palestinian national on suspicion of belonging to an outlawed hard-line militant group in the south Lebanon Ain al-Hilweh refugee camp.

The suspect, identified as Ahmed H., reportedly took part in the recent August clashes in the restive camp that saw fighting between the militant group, led by the extremist gang leaders Bilal Badr and Bilal Arqoub, and the joint Palestinian Security force, backed by Fatah and other mainstream factions. He also transferred ammunition and explosives from the Hittin district to the Al-Tiri neighborhood, which was the focal point for the clashes.

H. was handed over to Lebanese Army Intelligence after being questioned by State Security personnel.
