General Security officers arrested on Monday a supporter of Ahmed al-Asir during a raid in the southern city of Sidon. The state-run National News Agency said H.R. was apprehended by the Information Branch of the General Security during an early morning raid on an electronics shop.
In the evening, NNA said army intelligence agents arrested in Sidon a man identified as Musaab Qaddoura. It said he is a brother of Mutassem Qaddoura, "one of the most wanted supporters of al-Asir." Later on Monday, the Army Command said an intelligence patrol arrested Mohammed al-Naqqouzi in Sidon over his ties to al-Asir.
“He has confessed to meeting terrorist groups and plotting to target army posts,” it added.
